Overview

This section provides step-by-step tutorials for setting up your account and getting started with the Universal Annotation Tool.

Sign Up with Email

Creating an account is quick and straightforward.

1. Navigate to the homepage
2. Click "Sign Up" in the navigation bar
3. Enter your email address
4. Create a secure password
5. Click "Create Account"
6. Check your email for a verification link
7. Click the verification link to activate your account
8. You'll be redirected to the onboarding page to create your organization

Server-side Verification

The system uses Clerk for authentication, which handles email verification automatically. Verification links are sent to your email address and must be clicked to activate your account.

Account Recovery

If you forget your password or need to recover your account:

1. Go to the sign-in page
2. Click "Forgot Password"
3. Enter your email address
4. Check your email for a password reset link
5. Click the link and follow the instructions to set a new password

Installation

The Universal Annotation Tool is a web-based application and requires no installation. Simply access it through your web browser. For developers who want to run the application locally, see the Development Guide.

Upgrade Guide

The application is continuously updated with new features and improvements. Updates are applied automatically - no action is required from users. Your data and annotations are preserved across updates.
